One big mistake. . .

Although we have only been here for two weeks, we are already finding ourselves saying "If we ever do this sort of thing again, we're going to do this and that differently" one of the top regrets we have is selling our second car. We were told that it is easy to find a car, and that you can get a good deal. We have not found that to be the case at all. Sure, we can find lots of BMW's for 50$--however, that's not what we're looking for. The equivalent to our Hyundai Elantra is going for twice what we sold ours for with double or triple the miles! We think back to our paid off 2004 with very low miles and really wish that we would have paid for the second car to be shipped.

Until later,

Emily

Did we tell you we sold our BMW? Mr. D bought a Jeep instead. I knew that boy wouldn't last in a car for long!!
I meant to ask how Taylor did on the trip? Did I spell that right?

Yes, I got to see your new Jeep before we left--loved it! Tailer made it, but I think shed was miserable. She's fine now, though.

I don't know -- a beemer sounds pretty good to me?

Sounds great to me too--however, not the price tag! We need to rent out our townhouse before getting too crazy! Remember, we've already bought one new car this year--it may be a KIA but it wasn't dirt cheap! Oh, if only money grew on trees...then we'd get the beemer!

Emily,

So good to see that you have started a blog. This will be a great way for you to keep track of the life as you know it. I have thought of setting one up but just haven't gotten to it yet. Maybe one day I will push to it and get it done.

I love your names, how cute! I am glad you got Thomas was able to get into a school. Even though it is a little drive for you it should be good for him. Plus you may even meet other moms that you can carpool with and add to play dates for you and him.

There is a new family in our neighborhood that just came from Germany. They are in the Army. She said it is really cool. She told me about the yummy pastries and things. Be sure to have one for me.

My mom and Russ (her husband) left for Houston yesterday. I have known about it for quite some time now but it really didn't hit me unil I had a chance to really think about it. They aren't going on a trip but are actually moving halfway across the country. I think I will be having separation anxiety for a while.

Allie and Mattie start school tomorrow and we are all very excited! Steve is taking the day off to celebrate the occasion. I am hoping Mattie goes without a fight. We are still dealing with the separation issue at church. All well we will just deal if she does.

Oh, I got my hair cut to my neckline! I love it! I am going to put some color in it and have some fun. I will try to get pictures and send them to you. You should have seen Steve's face! He really likes it but he didn't have a clue I was going to do it so it was quite a surprise.

Karen (current owner) of the shop and I sat down and worked out a little better set up for us. Her house isn't moving so we decided to get a better deal put together until things happen for her. We agreed on a 60/40 split on what I do. I will keep track and see how it works out. We will start September 1st. She is also thinking of taking her house off the market and getting a real realitor to help sell her house. The Assist to Sell realitor just isn't doiing enough.

It sounds like you are getting things done little by little. I hope you get your air frieght soon!

Keep in touch!

Love ya,
Angel

Don't you just love transferring and all the easiness in the process of shipping your stuff! UGHH! Hopefully they will find it soon, or there just might be some family in central England dressing mighty fine in their new American clothes :)

By the way, can you get for me an M3 for $50?

So how many German words have you learned - you should add that to your blog!

I didn't pay much attention, but I think the ones I saw that were in the 48-55 euro were the cars. Is the 3 a car or an suv? So basically, times that by about 1.25 and there you go with the price in dollars.
